How should I submit my work?
Send as much or as little of your manuscript as you like, though obviously enough to give a flavour of the full-length version. This should be accompanied by a synopsis of no more than two A4 pages. All submissions should be single sides of A4, double-spaced and in 12-point type. We would rather have a hard copy of your manuscript for ease of reading - printing out an emailed or disk copy is time-consuming and costly.
How long will I have to wait for my report?
We will acknowledge you by email when we receive your submission and the report will normally be with you within two weeks of that date.
How long will the report be?
A minimum of seven single-side, double-spaced A4 pages.
Can I send illustrations to accompany my manuscript?
No. We are sorry but CBC is not able to evaluate illustration, just text.
Can CBC recommend me to a literary agent or publisher?
No. CBC's role is more to facilitate the author's personal creative journey, rather than act as go-between.
How much will it cost?

| Synopsis + up to 200 pages of double-spaced, 12-point type: | £225 |
| Synopsis + 200 to 350 pages of double-spaced, 12-point type: | £275 |
How can I pay?
Please enclose a cheque for the appropriate amount with your work, made payable to the Children's Book Consultancy Ltd.
Will you return my manuscript?
If you wish, we will return your work free of charge.
What if I'm not happy with the report?
Obviously, we hope you will be! But if for any reason you disagree with any points raised or criticism contained in the report we will be happy to discuss them further with you.
